DISTANT WORLDS | Oval Artifact - Part 04

“Things are starting to get even stranger. A few days ago, a group of geologists were studying a volcano that has displayed increased activity. At first everything seemed fine and normal like any other mission. But after a few hours, suddenly, an oval shaped ring appeared from nowhere. Everyone looked at it in shock. The ring didn't make a sound. It just stayed still. Hovering.

After a while, the group leader noticed that a member of his crew seemed frozen. Like he was hypnotized. The others tried to shake him awake but nothing happened. Then as suddenly as it appeared, the ring vanished! Gone! Just like that! The crew member regained consciousness right after. He claims that he has no memory of what happened. He only remembers looking at a chart of data, and the next second he was surrounded by worried faces, looking at him like they had just seen a ghost. He was sent to a medical facility. The doctors did checkups, but everything seemed normal. Every test showed a perfectly healthy human being.

Come to think of it, the same thing happened to one of my colleagues back when we discovered the first alien structure a few months ago. I didn't think much of it at the time, since he was just standing there, looking at the structure, then carried on like normal. I just assumed that he was in awe of what we had just found. I mean who wouldn't be? It was the discovery of the century! Finding actual signs of alien life.

At first I was so excited by all of this, but now… now I don’t know.. Now I feel worried. First the disappearance of the Delta 4 crew and now this? What the hell is going on?!”
